    Join us whilst we talk to Katie from Dollie, and learn about the faces behind the infamous Mother and Daughter Team, taking the Jewellery World by Storm! 

    Designed, made and manufactured totally in the UK with silver beads and real gemstones, Dollie Jewellery is fun, affordable and designed perfectly for gifting your gal pals or treating yourself.

    Karen Webb-Meek is the fun, fearless entrepreneur behind the Dollie name. A talented illustrator, Karen put pencil to paper designing the first Dollie designs, which have since become some of the brands most popular styles. Now joined by daughter and Sales Director Katie, this mother & daughter team are flying the flag for all things Dollie.

    Hi Katie, thank you for joining us today! Let’s jump right in, shall we? Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background….

    I am one of 5 children, with 2 sisters, Poppy, 24, Lianne, 30 and 2 brothers, Harvey, 22 and Charles, 5. My dad was in the RAF and so I was actually born in Germany, 28 years ago while he was stationed over there.  We also lived in Hampshire, Kent and Lincolnshire while growing up and this is where I started working in my Mum's Family Jewellers, In The Pink Jewellery whilst I was still at school. Then I went away and worked as a Swimming Teacher for First Choice Holidays in Majorca, Cyprus and Lanzarote before heading to London College of Fashion to complete my degree in Retail Branding and Fashion Merchandising. Since graduating I have worked for Harrods, Pandora, Selfridges, Thomas Sabo and of course in The Pink and Dollie! 

    And How did Dollie Jewellery come to fruition?

    Dollie was officially established in June last year after Mum (Karen) and I made the decision to work together to create an exciting global Jewellery brand. Prior to this we trialled Dollie Jewellery in the ‘In The Pink’ stores for several years. The idea was to fill a gap in the market for fun, simple easy to wear Sterling Silver Jewellery at affordable prices.  

    You must have seen some incredible changes over the years. How has the Business grown since starting up?

    When we were selling Dollie in our ‘In The Pink’ Jewellery Stores, we trialled lots of different designs, sizes, colours and styles. We have now refined our range to a core selection of pieces that our customers love and now we wholesale Dollie to over 40 stores nationwide including Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales and supply two airlines for their Duty Free Onboard magazines. We have even done an event with Gok Wan and now teamed up with the fabulous Tilletts! 

    That’s Amazing! We are so excited to be working with Dollie, it’s a fabulous addition for us. What exactly made you want to go into business with Tilletts?

    We have always felt a connection with Tilletts, with us both being mother and daughter's teams. Starting the Business from scratch, evolving with the ever-changing face of retail and their go-getting attitude really resonates with us. We adore their motto and what they stand for, empowering women, celebrating their individuality, promoting confidence and encouraging friendships.

    That’s lovely of you to say, Thank you! So, what would you say is your ultimate dream/goal for Dollie?

    We want to see women all over the world collecting our Jewellery and loving it as much as we do! 

    That would be incredible and I’m positive Women all over the world will love it as much as we do at Tilletts. For Ladies who are just now finding Dollie, what advice can you give them on where to start on building their Jewellery collection?

    Jewellery is all about your personal style, some ladies love to stack it up and others like to keep it simple so stick to what you feel comfortable with. A simple silver bracelet with perhaps a heart or star is a good first purchase, and from there you can build up your stack (we call a stack anything from 3 bracelets upwards) and add a bit of colour, sparkle or a matching ring or two later down the line.

    Excellent advice Katie, what is the best piece of advice you have been given?

    Never worry about what other's think, do it your way and be yourself! 

    You’ve obviously taken this advice to heart and applied it your ever-growing, successful Business. What would you say has been your biggest achievement so far?

    We have accomplished so much in the first year of Dollie; being selected for Gok Wan's Mother's Day Event, securing our first contract with Virgin Atlantic and being nominated for New Business of the year and Young Entrepreneur of the year for the Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards was truly amazing! 

    Congratulations! You’ve had a sensational first year of Business and every bit of success is truly deserved. Well done! So, I just have one last question for you Katie – I’m sure all our lovely ladies are dying to know……if you and Karen had to pick just one, what would be your ultimate favourite Dollie piece?

    Karen: The Signature Love Heart - B0041 - £55 because it is one of our chunkier pieces and breaks up the smaller beaded bracelets in my stack. It is also one of the very first Dollie charms that I hand drew and hand cast into silver. 

    Katie: The Queen Bee Bracelet - B0051 - £35 because after attending the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester on May 22nd, 2017 with my sister and my best friend, the bee has a special sentimental meaning for us all and we each have one that we wear every day.
